With a cute, healing cat by your side, let's set out together on this long, three-dimensional, wonderful language-learning journey — carried by a passion for life, a pursuit of freely creating beauty, and an appreciation for culture and art.

There is really only one method of language learning that works: immersion. Live inside a language and you acquire it naturally — the human brain is built for exactly this. Only a few ever get that chance. So we built a place where your language ability takes root in your real life and real needs — where treasuring every day of your life blooms into something quietly healing, and can even open a door onto the beauty of a culture.

Why your own life, not a textbook

A textbook is about somebody else's day: the fictional family, a job you'll never do, a hobby you don't care about. Your book is about yours. The tea you made this morning, the bus you missed, the word you finally remembered on the way home.

Nobody volunteers hours for something that feels like a chore, and a stranger's textbook always does. A chat about your own day doesn't. The sentences that come up tonight are the ones you will need again, because they come from your life, and your life is where you'll be speaking this language. That is what we mean by live it, don't just learn it.

What a page looks like

Open the book and you get a real page: paper, a margin, room for a photo. You don't have to fill it by yourself.

• Chat, and it gathers here. Talk with the cat whenever you feel like it. The lines you worked out together become learning cards on the day's page, and the day's new words are summed up right there.
• Write a line, if you feel like it. When a word won't come, write that line in your own language instead — a translation appears beside it on its own, without replacing what you wrote. Turn it off for any line you'd rather leave alone. The page stays yours.
• Ask the cat to take a look. When you want a second pair of eyes, she reads a line and suggests a more natural way to say it — never marking you wrong, only ever offering one way forward. She points at one thing, and you decide.
• Decorate it, however you like — no drawing skills needed. Backgrounds, 235 stickers and 46 washi tapes on the free plan, a photo studio for cutouts and outlines: click and drag, and the page comes together. Pages follow the season, too: old letters pressed with dried flowers, or blue-and-white porcelain. Every day turns out to have something worth keeping, once you go looking for it.

The cat by your side

Her name is LingoMeow. When she offers you a fix, she also saves it to your progress card for the day, with a little encouragement:

When you need help, she's there. Otherwise, she simply keeps you company. She never pressures you about anything — she's only ever happy to see you.

A small routine that doesn't feel like one

Most people use LingoMeow a little at a time: a chat with the cat here and there through the day that quietly becomes a learning card, a word double-clicked and saved, and in the evening, if they feel like it, a few minutes of decorating the day's page. The learning merges into your daily life so comfortably and enjoyably that you barely notice it happening. Over a month you end up with something a course can't give you: language-learning material built entirely around your real life — your own needs, your own interests — with audio, translation and vocabulary already woven in. A beautiful, comforting journal. The quiet company of an adorable cat.

Look back at the first page after a few weeks, and it isn't just a memory: it's a line you needed translated then and wouldn't now, a word you once had to look up that you use on its own today.

Languages you can use

English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Chinese — Simplified or Traditional. That's eleven in all. Many people keep two languages in the same book, one page each. The translation and the cat follow whichever language the page is in.
